Steel fiber reinforced castable is a modified refractory material formulated with refractory aggregates and powders as the base materials, incorporating an appropriate amount of steel fibers as the reinforcing phase, together with special binders and additives. Its key characteristics lie in the bridging and toughening effects of steel fibers, which significantly enhance the flexural strength, impact resistance, and resistance to wear and erosion. The steel fibers effectively inhibit crack initiation and propagation under high-temperature service conditions, while maintaining excellent refractoriness, thermal shock resistance, and volume stability.
This material is easy to install it can be cast after mixing with water and exhibits stable strength development after curing. Compared with ordinary castable, its resistance to spalling and overall service life are greatly improved, making it suitable for complex and harsh operating environments.
This material is widely used in applications involving high impact and severe wear conditions, such as metallurgy, building materials, and electric power industries.
In the metallurgical industry, it is used as lining material for blast furnace iron runners, converter flues, and ladle slag lines.
In the building materials industry, it is suitable for tertiary air ducts of cement kilns and linings of grate cooler grates.
In the electric power industry, it is applied to linings of circulating fluidized bed boiler furnaces and cyclone separators.
In addition, it can also be used for lining construction of wear-prone components such as mining chutes.
