The lightweight insulating castable series is an energy-saving refractory material formulated with lightweight refractory aggregates and powders as the base materials, combined with composite thermal insulation agents, low-temperature binders, and additives. Its key characteristics include low bulk density, high porosity, extremely low thermal conductivity, and excellent thermal insulation performance, which significantly reduce heat loss in industrial furnaces.
It also exhibits adequate room-temperature strength and good thermal shock resistance, and is not prone to pulverization or shedding during high-temperature service. The material is easy to install: it can be cast after mixing with water and features a short curing period, making it suitable for constructing insulation layers of various furnace structures. Compared with dense refractory castables, this series offers significant weight reduction, lowering the structural load of furnace bodies while providing good economic efficiency.
This series of materials is widely used as insulation layers in industrial furnaces across metallurgy, building materials, electric power, and other industries.
In the metallurgical industry, it is used as the backup insulation layer for heating furnaces and annealing furnaces.
In the building materials industry, it is suitable for insulation linings of ceramic roller kilns and brick tunnel kilns.
In the electric power industry, it is applied to insulation layers of boiler walls and hot air pipelines.
In addition, it can also be used in insulation structures of various drying furnaces and heat treatment furnaces, meeting energy-saving and thermal insulation requirements under medium- and low-temperature operating conditions.
