In the summer of 2025, Cera Thermal successfully carried out the refractory lining work for the Woodfibre LNG Project in Qingdao. Unlike regular projects, this task came with extraordinary challenges: the repair area was located inside a vertical stack at heights of 30 to 45 meters above the ground, with an overall lifting height exceeding 70 meters. The workspace was both ultra-high and extremely narrow, making safety control and technical precision critical.
To overcome this unprecedented challenge, the Cera Thermal team creatively adopted a crane and suspended basket system. The suspended basket—carrying workers and equipment—had to meet strict load-bearing and safety standards while being accurately lowered from over 70 meters high into the narrow stack opening, then positioned precisely 25–30 meters below at the repair point. This high-precision aerial operation was a first in the industry.
To ensure smooth and safe execution, the team developed a detailed emergency plan, customized and modified equipment based on careful calculations, held multiple safety meetings, and even worked with national-level rescue professionals for emergency drills. Through these thorough preparations, the team achieved a remarkable success—completing complex refractory lining work under extreme conditions.
This project not only demonstrated Cera Thermal’s expertise in refractory installation, but also marked a major milestone in the company’s ability to execute high-difficulty, high-risk international projects. Looking ahead, Cera Thermal will continue to uphold the philosophy of Profession Creating Value, constantly challenging limits and delivering higher standards of products and services for our clients.
